Production History

Contract Engineering
Horwood Bagshaw has built-up experience in the fabrication of heavy-duty assemblies/equipment over a number of years. Of relevance to fabricators is Horwood Bagshaw’s
recent involvement in:

  • Infrastructure for the
    Mindarie & Angas mines.
  • Chasses for portable mining villages.
  • An underground excavator.

  • Truck trays
  • Armoured Modules

  • Side walls, sills, etc,
    for chay wagons.

  • Trailer chasses.

  • Stainless steel, rotary
    fermentation tanks.

  • Stainless steel & mild steel
    Paint Shop structures for
    Holden, Toyota & Mitsubishi.
  • Conveyor tracks for Holden
    & Mitsubishi.

  • Grain-Unloading Ramp

Agricultural Machinery
The company’s agricultural product range is centred on robust Tillage & Seeding equipment. However, the range also includes a Grader Scraper, used in laser-levelling irrigation bays for cotton and rice growing. The earth-engaging nature of these machines has ingrained in all employees the need for robustness, reliability and durability.

Production Facilities

Horwood Bagshaw’s administrative and production facilities are located on a 28 acre site in the township of Mannum.
The significant feature of the facility is the undercover area of 16,700 square metres available for manufacture / fabrication / assembly. This undercover area allows Horwood Bagshaw to process high volumes of large-framed machines/devices within a relatively short time frame. A clean layout of Fabrication Bays, underneath overhead cranes, facilitates relatively simple processing. The 6500 square metres of Production space under cover is allocated approx as follows:

Cutting 750
Machining 750
Sheet Metal 700
Welding Booths 500
Fabrication Bays 4,500
Assembly Lines 2,800
Storage/Assembly 3,300

Two modern, efficient Paint Shops are located in separate buildings.

Electrostatic Finish 2,200
Two Pack Finsh 800
TOTAL 16,700

Product is moved through the Paint Shops by an overhead rail system.
Very heavy sections are moved by transporters. The size of the Paint Shops, and their spray booths, facilitates the painting of very large sections/ structures (up to 20m x 6m). Top coats can be applied electrostatically and produce a high quality finish. One of the Paint Shops is dedicated to two pack finishing.
